Ashes To Ashes: The End.

But it's very sad, isn't it? Very very sad.
Of course, Life On Mars ending was clear enough, right? But still very much open to interpretation. Now, Ashes To Ashes finale is different. Just because they don't name things, doesn't mean you can't... identify them. So you know what you're dealing with, no mistake. Наверное, в чем-то конец от этого проиграл; чем более определенный, если не сказать, разжеванный конец, тем менее это... элегантно, you know?
But I've said it before and I'll say it again - Ashes - это один из лучших сериалов в последние годы. It is a VERY good TV. Актеры прекрасны - вот тут уже никто не может отрицать, понравился вам конец или нет - актеры были просто превосходны. И Алекс, и Рэй, и Крис, и Шэз, и Джим Китс - и, конечно, the one and only Джин Хант. Philip Glenister is GOD. I mean it.
So now it's official: yes, Life On Mars was much better. But I don't see anything comes even close to the Ashes level either, you know? Let's not forget that.
And now let's talk spoilers.
So we knew they are all dead, we knew.
And Jim Keats is a devil - or some sort of the Hell's gatekeeper. Oh boy, he was scary, especially in the "Hello Jimbo. Goodbye Jimbo" scene.
And Alex is dead from that scene in the hospital, when Gene slaps her and brings back to his world. She's never go back to Molly.
And the scene in Lancashire with the scarecrow.. How amazing Philip Glenister was?
And Shaz is from the 90-s. Makes sense, right?
And The Railway Arms pub, and Nelson... Do you know they've planned Sam to come out from the pub? But then they've realise it would "undermine" Ashes. Good decision, I guess.
And Gene was just a kid when he was killed. That's why he acts like he does. Inside, he's still that kid.
And yes, there was a kiss.
And I'm gonna miss them. Especially Gene.
И несмотря на то, что финал мне показался преступно упрощенным, по крайней мере they got the very least scene right:
- A word in your shell-like, pal".
Cause this - "A word in your shell-like, pal" - is the first thing Gene ever told to Sam. In the very first Life On Mars' episode...
